queen victoria

as many of you may have noticed by now, the name of this blog derives from the quote made famous by the one and only Victoria Beckham - while the usage of the word "major" has been frequenting the mouths of the fash pack for years, it took one famous twig of a woman to publicise the phrase and make it global.

there is an ever growing talk amongst the fashion crowd about Victorias actual status in the fashion industry, and whether or not it is legitimate. While some see her as a fashion queen, others see her as a walking mockery of true fashion. For example, i'm sure many of you UK fashionistas out there will have read by now 'Fashion Babylon' by the fabulous Imogen Edwards-Jones. The book is basically based on a true story during a 6 month period in a designers life leading up to fashion week. In it, it is no secret that Victoria Beckham is less than welcome inside the true fashion industry. According to the book, "a few years ago when Tom Ford was still working at Gucci, he alledgedly called up his PR in London demanding to get 'that woman' [namely VB] out of his clothes. And Ford is said to have paused and then shouted 'How can we stop her?!'" so.. should we believe the hype? is victoria really just into fashion because her singing career flopped?

Her line of jeans ended up in the UK equivelent of TK Maxx, 'Loehmanns'
